I have been training for Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai at Triunfo for a few weeks now and I love it! The instructors are world class fighters and take joy in teaching. There are students from all ages and everyone is very friendly and always willing to teach you everything they know in order to help you get better.
When I was looking for a great gym to work out at and learn some fighting skills I happened upon Triunfo because of my boyfriend. This is THE BEST GYM to learn MMA because of the high caliber of coaches here. At other gyms in COSTA MESA you might find ONE SINGLE BLACK BELT. At Triunfo, FELIPE has a JUDO BLACK BELT as well as a BRAZILIAN JIUJITSU BLACK BELT. Muay Thai Coach TYLER has a BLACK BELT IN MUAY THAI. Whether you are looking to become the next ULTIMATE FIGHTER or like me, looking for a good work out. WHY wouldn't you surround yourself with greatness? The gym is well kept, full of motivating training partners, as well as ORANGE COUNTY'S top COACHES. At the end of the day, when choosing a gym, why wouldn't you want to learn from 3 BLACK BELTS? Any other gym in COSTA MESA might have just one.
Triunfo is a really amazing spot to learn BJJ. I had never been into martial arts and was intimidated going in, but Alex and Felipe were really cool and made me feel at home from the start. This is such a great place to be. I daydream about class all day while at work and can't wait to walk in the door with my gear ready to train. The instructors are very knowledgable and technical, and they take a lot of time to make sure we are learning and growing as jiu jitsu practitioners. If this were just a BJJ gym the membership would be worth it, but there are also a lot of other classes. I've been staying for Muai Thai lately and having a blast learning standup from a really excellent teacher.
6 months ago I never would have thought I'd be training BJJ and learning to throw leg kicks and fight in a muai thai clinch, but I just decided one day to take the plunge and walk into this place. If you've ever been curious about MMA or BJJ, I recommend this place to walk in to.
I love that place , we are like a family now , the real Brazilian jiu-jitsu perfect for professional fighter, amateur and kids.
GREAT people. Super nice and humble. The facility is always CLEAN and well kept. They offer a very close knit family feel about them and the trainers are AMAZING and extremely patient! All their members are very welcoming and genuinely care about one another. Absolutely a great place to call home while you train. I love it here.
My son and I started here with Felipe and Alex about 4 months ago. I can't say enough about the family environment that the gym has. No egos, no drama, no issues, just a bunch of people helping each other improve their skills
Felipe is a world class jiu jitsu practitioner and an excellent coach as well. He takes the time to really focus on technique for the first hour and then it's time to roll! Aside from all that he is a genuinely super guy who really promotes friendship and family at the gym.
Alex is the wrestling coach and also teaches the stand up aspects of the training. He really works well with my son with the boxing and Muay Thai though out the week. He too creates that family atmosphere that we both enjoy when we work out at the gym.
I've been training at Triunfo for over a year and it was the best decision I've made since i moved down here. Never thought I would be in the best shape of my life without even having to lift a single weight. Everyone who trains here is humble and respectful, and the minute you walk in the door you will feel like you are part of the team. Felipe is a great coach and friend and he provides high level BJJ and MMA training. I love training here it as it keeps me motivated to work hard and train hard while meeting some great people along the way. The gym offers everything top quality training for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, MMA, and much more. Everyone who trains here is treated like family and everyone is here to motivate one another. If anyone has even thought about giving this a try, I highly recommend they come on by and try it out.
I train in Huntington Beach but I periodically stop by other facilities to check it out and to get a taste of what other people are doing. Triunfo is a top notch family oriented training center that is focused on helping you achieve your goals no matter what they may be. The instructors there are knowledgeable, they come from great lineage, everyone that trains there is very nice and the prices are VERY competitive. The facility itself has two large mat spaces, hanging thai style bags and they have cage walls that run along the mats for anyone trying to get some MMA style training in. Oh and most importantly its CLEAN so you dont have to worry about staph, worm or any other nasty stuff rubbin off on you.
I highly recommend Triundo for anyone trying to be competitive in Grappling/MMA and for anyone just trying to stay in good shape, FIVE STARS!
Triunfo has great instructors, team atmosphere, and no-BS practical training. I had zero prior martial arts training and didn't even know how to throw a punch. Pat and Felipe were patient and guided me through. They are extremely knowledgeable and experienced in techniques that win fights. I still have years to learn. The guys you train with are also a great bunch. They're welcoming and help each other out. Awesome place!
Great instruction. Clean gym. Affordable pricing. Classes all day. Good people!
If you are wanting learn how to train in MMA/Jiu Jiutsu/Judo/Muay Thai and not wanting to deal with all the knuckle heads and egocentric punks....come to Triunfo and I guarantee you will be happy you did!
From self defense, learning martial arts at all levels, and/or just wanting one great sweaty workout with confident coaches pushing you and believing in you....I recommend joining or checking out Triunfo!
I have had the great opportunity to train with Jiu Jitsu/Judo/MMA instructor Felipe Foglin. And and I can truly say without sounding bias, he is legit. He is passionate about what he does and cares for his students. I true teacher that knows how to teach and knows what he's talking about. Might I add, his Jiu jitsu/Judo is top notch...like no other!
Paul Song is the Muay Thai/MMA instructor (in which I had the opportunity to train along side with as well) and he knows how to push you to your highest potential and not let you give up! His skills and vision for the MMA/Muay Thai is impeccable to what you see on UFC. He knows how to teach, rather than some coaches/schools just tell you what to do....and just lets you do it. Paul takes his time to make sure your technique is sharp and correct, and helps you understand the reasoning and why.
I can't say how underrated this gym is...but I guess the only way for one to believe it...is to experience it!
Felipe is a great BJJ instructor! I loved the small classes and family atmosphere of the gym. Felipe pays attention during the whole class and corrects all of the students. He also really cares about sharing the healthy lifestyle with the community.
This is such a great place to train martial arts. Felipe Fogolin is one of the best instructors you will find. He not only has an amazing world class athletic career, but he also puts that same energy and passion into teaching his students and it really shows. Triunfo has a great family vibe where students feel right at home and learn quickly. They even have free bully prevention seminars for kids. The instructors are top notch and really pay attention to each student and guide them to meet their goals. Martial arts are such an important part of my life that I can't say enough about the growth in life I attribute to it. The art and skill in mma, the bonds I have made with training partners, and the strength of mind and body. Whether you are a loving parent who wants their child to build confidence, self awareness and discipline,or a non-athletic beginner or a signed UFC fighter, this place will be invaluable. It's an honor to train with such amazing people!
Awesome gym! Top notch clean and great equipment. The coaches are awesome and really know their stuff, coach Felipe is a really nice guy who wants you to succeed. I would recommend this place to anyone! Check it out!
A real family-oriented gym. My son trains BJJ and boxing here. I train BJJ myself. The instruction by BJJ and Judo black belt Felipe Fogolin is world class/legit. He works well with his staff including Alex (manager), Pat (Muay Thai coach), Magno (MMA) and Chad (kid's /adult boxing). When you walk in you feel really good energy straight away. Lots of kids running around in the evenings and they love it because they are having fun and building a good foundation both mentally and physically. Everyone leaves their ego at the door when training and tries to help out less experienced students. It's a gym based on the true bushido spirit. Heeeyyyy!!!
Wow, what can I say about Triunfo! If you're looking to learn true BJJ, Judo, Muay Thai, MMA, or just get an incredible workout in a super friendly, welcoming gym, this is the place. I have to admit I was a bit intimidated before walking in, not having much martial arts experience, but from the moment you walk in, you can feel how special and inviting this place is. No egos or meatheads:) I was immediately welcomed by Alex and head instructor Felipe. Alex gave me a tour and took the time to get to know me. You can see he genuinely cares about your fitness goals and finding ways to achieve them. He efficiently runs the gym and is always available to address any questions or concerns. I can't say enough about Prof Felipe. Not only is he a BJJ/Judo blackbelt and an accomplished MMA fighter/trainer, he is also an incredibly caring human being. You can get insight about a martial arts instructor by the way he teaches his kids classes and Felipe demonstrates patience, dedication, and overall attention and caring. He instills discipline and most importantly, self-worth into all his students, no matter the age group. He truly loves his students like family. However, don't confuse caring for lack of instruction. Prof Felipe's knowledge and level of instruction is of the highest caliber. He runs very technical and tough classes with lots of drilling and sparring. There is a good mix of upper and lower belts in each class and everybody is super friendly and willing to take the time to help you or go over techniques. At no time did I feel left out or unwelcome. Everyone is there to support each other and grow. From what I could observe, the other disciplines and instructors are just as detailed and rigorous.
Because of a change to my work schedule and location, I was only able to train for a limited time, but in that short time, I lost a bunch of weight, got in great shape, made good friends, and most importantly, discovered a life-long passion. You can bet that once my work schedule permits, I'll be back with a vengeance;). So if you're looking for a tough, yet friendly, welcoming MMA gym, this is the place. Go in and try a free class. You'll be glad you did!
This place is great, they have the most affordable prices around, they let me try a couple of the classes and that gave me an idea on what i wanted to focus on, i started rolling here about month ago, and its done an unimaginable amount of work on my body for just the short amount of time, I feel myself getting back to my early 20's..18's even.... Ha thanks Felipe you know your Ish.
My 13-year-old son has been going to this MMA gym for about 4 months now. It's awesome! Lots of classes: jiu jitsu, judo, wrestling, MMA, Muay Thai, karate and a few others. The staff couldn't be any better and there's a real camaraderie at work here. In addition to the excellent martial arts training, the trainers are also passionate about helping kids develop character. Can't say enough good things about Triunfo!
Started Rolling here 3 weeks ago. Very technical, good group of people and a great variety of BJJ Belts. Facility is top notch. Clean and very professional.
